That is the reality of most mmorpgs but IMHO a sad one, i share the same view as Rekru and i don't think it takes that much "skill" to pk, choose the most efficient class at "pvpying" for your char, get the best equipment and 90% of the job is already done. If PvP has a purpose in the game then i don't mind, like for instance in events or duels but if a game sys lets players abuse it as in the last game i played then i'm totally against it, nothing better than an online FPS game as far as pvp is concerned.

When an MMORPG is only about what you said, i would consider that game an MMO, the rpg aspect would at least require doing quests, crafting and selling stuff, general game events based on a story etc...

When I've pked and hunted pkers, it was with characters I took a long time building - and it took a lot of skill to do it right. For me, mmporgs are poor rpgs and I can have much more fun (rpg-wise) playing a single-player rpg, so after a point when building becomes slow, there is only one thing to make it exciting - fighting another player. But, hey, that's just me, eh? I'm not one for the social aspect of online games.

When playing Diablo I was in a PKK guild and we got orders for money (ingame) which gave the game an extra nice touch imo. ofcourse the guys being hunted didn't agree on this part. It sure was fun to see some ppl run once they saw {SoD} behind a char name and found out we were there for them

Well im on east, and yes im on the expansion. Im playing ladder only right now, and im using a summoner necro(lvl 85, arachnid mesh, harlequin crest, Enigma dusk shroud, Arm of leoric, homunculus(pdiamond), 49% war travs, 40% chance guards, eye ammy.....)(i summon roughly 52 minions lol). Give me a shout at thegrandfather7(yes i am the original thegrandfather on bnet......the only other person to use that account name did it to spite me(ass)) and ill help you in anyway i can(i can rush through hell at LEAST to act4(i think i can kill diablo but its gonna be dicy lol)
