Default Nice webpage of Miyairi Akihira on how a katana is made
I found this nice webpage about katana swordsmithing by Miyairi Akihira (1913-1977) , a member of Nihonto Tanren Denshusho, was a living national treasure of Japan. Hope all of you enjoy it. Jaa Genki dane!!!

REALLY interesting. think I might have seen this guy on tv. It's so interesting to see proper katana made. i saw a huge display of antique katana and naginata and they are serious art forms!

Just wanted to share .... i know alot of kendokas here like me wonder or wish they can see how a real katana is made from scratch... wouldnt it be nice if it was possible if you can be part of the process to assist a master swordsmith in making the katana him directing you where to hammer and what to do to help him make youre katana... Daydreamin
