Default Extra Curricular Activities
It would be good to see if others on here get up to other extra curricular Activities in addition to Martial Arts/Kendo.... Below is a link to a VERY short clip of me doing my other pastime... Historical Horse Archery... This one in question is Late Roman...

http://www.comitatus.net/archeryontestudo2.avi

I'll sort out some more when I have them..

Iai/kenjutsu/kendo/marriage/self-employment pretty much takes up all my time.

Couldn't get the clip to work...

Riding and shooting...you're OK! In my copious free time, I make trees into sawdust and the occasional cabinet or bokutoh. Scott still dreams of a day when I'll send him a couple tsubas for his shinai...

Hint on the clip: download it to your local machine first.

My son and I are learning judo together. I'm part of a support system for my daughter's Irish dancing habit. I cross-train weights and running for kendo and judo. I play the piano and a little guitar, but don't practice much. In the summer I golf occasionally, skateboard quite a bit (vert, longboard - no popsicle sticks) and like to go wilderness canoeing (picks from our last trip here). In the winter, I like to snowboard - you can see a short clip of me at Panorama. My wife and I love movies, and watch far too much TV.

Now you're getting the idea...however, after a looooong hiatus, I'm back in the shop at least once a week now. There is (faint) hope.

Eh. I get out on 2 or 3 weekend snowboard trips a year, canoeing one long weekend if I'm lucky, golf maybe 3 or 4 times... you get the idea, it's a lot of different things but I'm not doing a whole bunch of any one. But in the winter I'm in the dojo 4 times a week between judo and kendo, plus 3 or 4 weekends for seminars, so that's the major time commitment.

Lately my only extra curricular has been not dying but I'm starting to get better so maybe more stuff soon. I have been building a house for the last 15 years and have done all of the work myself.
I try to spend a couple weeks a year sailing.
I built a recording studio and wrote and produced an album playing most of the instruments and several vocal but never sold it, probably because it wasn't very good. Just finished a screenplay.
In past life I built and drove formula super vee and formula ford cars (when I was young and reckless) and played in a rock and roll band.
Regular surfer until I hit 45.
Scuba diver, made several trips a year all over central america and to fijii.
Pretty much stopped skiing when I decided I don't like the cold weather too much anymore but I could be persuaded, I suppose.
I was just out looking at tractors/loaders/backhoe combos because I want to start an orchard and a vineyard/winery next year.

Your horseback archery looks real good. Well trained hourse and rider to do that with just your legs.
You should get up with this girl and do this on horseback

No gears? You don't do that in Portland, too many damn hills to climb, too many potholes to ford.

No gears, no freewheel. Keep meaning to take it to the track, but the only open training day at the velodrome is at the same time as kendo, so no go....maybe next season.

Sweet fixie, but with SPD's? On a track, I can understand, but on the street? There are way too many reckless cagers out there, so I use toe clips - easier to exit while spinning if you need to bale in an emergency.
