Default More misplaced nostalgia
Despite being too young to logically remember any of this, I was brought up on the ZX spectrum and the commodore 64...so I do...

Hey Hey 16k

In the middle of moving house and after seeing that I am wondering where my joystick is, I have the C64 emulator and I am in the mood for some Impossible Mission , or Ghostbusters , or Raid over Moscow......

Anyone remember the C 128?

Me and a friend used to prey for the game to load without any reading error hahaha good times, loading if i recall correctly used to take a hell of a time which makes you apreciate the progress in this field.

Awooga Guy had an Amstrad CPC from 1986 and it rocked. It had a disk drive and everything - totally sweet Awooga Guy's obsession with driving games began at an early age...

That is all.

Ah, happy days! I started off on the good old Spectrum 48K (the one with the rubber keys). I then made the move up to the Spectrum 128K+2 (I can tell you're all so impressed!).

I don't think that there has been a game made that can stand up to the mighty Manic Miner!

My first proper PC was the Amstrad PC 1640. Back when computers were computers...

I think starting off with Gem is the reason I still don't like Windows...

And lemmings is possibly one of the greatest games in existance...

I used to love my old Amiga 500. I even went so far as to buy the 512k expansion making it a mighty 1MB beast. As Awooga said, there were some great games on that system and it was the basis for many petty arguments at school as to wether it was better than the consoles that had just come out (the Sega Megadrive and the SNES).

All this nostalgia is making me misty eyed!

The C64 ruled!! Even then I was into MA with yie ar kung fu!! the annoying beeps drove my parents nuts! :-)
Also... with some well placed 'peek's and 'poke's you could render a c64 inoperable in a shop (would be stupid to do it to yer own c64 of course...
oh... and cutting extra holes in 5.25" floppies so they could be used on both sides! :-) nostalgia... hacking ports with reset buttons and such...

I've never recovered from that... still in therapy 23 years later...
it's also sad that after all these years I still rocognise all the tunes as played by the c64 orchestra
yes... i'm a nerd....
