![]() Hey everybody, I just got done with my first semester of college and now I'm going to take it easy for a lil bit. There is no real Kendo instructor here in Flagstaff so I've just been polishing what I know basically. I want to make a real effort to further studying Kendo on my own over the summer. I plan on reading through : This is Kendo : The Art of Japanese Fencing by Junzo Sasamori and Gordon Warner and I want to use All Japan Kendo Federation Nihon Kendo Kata dvd for reference. If any of you have read the mentioned book or dvd I would appreciate your thoughts. I first got into Kendo when I studied abroad in Japan. Since then I practiced everything I learned there. I've been practicing on my own now for about 4 years. I really wish I had a group to practice with again. As a college student I am very broke though, so going out and purchasing all the equipment is temporarily out of the question. There is a fencing club, but I want to stay true to Kendo. Maybe it would be good to learn the tactics of the enemy though, lol. What are your summer plans for kendo!!!!? ![]() |
