I've never had a meat pie before. When I'm not eating beef, pork, or chicken, I'm eating pies. Sounds like it was made for me. I can't believe wikipedia didn't have an article on meat pies.

What, no steak and mushroom?

Voitramma 05-14-2007 04:23 AM

I've recently been converted to maccaroni pies. They lack meat, but they're good...

Pies are nice.

The Auld Toon Cafe on the high street. Macaroni cheese pies, good artery hardening food.... http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif You can tell these are from Aberdeen and not Glasgow cos the Glasgow ones would be deep fried..... http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/nervous.gif

ick no mushrooms are evil

in prestonia (lancashire) i discovered upside down pies called steak puddings
also butter pies
which are just pies filled with slices of potatoe really, but tastey nonetheless

so what do people prefer then puff or short crust pastry?
supermarket frozen bought i prefer short crust
but chip shop style has to be short crust with wierd shiny glazing http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

My favourite when I was at university was the camel pies. You know the bulk budget fozen ones from the supermarket? We called them camel pies after several investigations found that that was actually what was in them... amongst other things...

They taste pretty good with lots of tomatoe sauce.
