Except for a solitary polaroid in Officer Montoya's book, no pics thank God. Best to let those days go fondly by...

Ahhh, Ensenada. Mui bien. I bought a 3 cylinder, 2 stroke Saab in Ensenada. Only trouble was I couldn't wear my sombrero while I was driving it. Went down there with a bunch of jokers from Laguna Beach called themselves the Brotherhood of Eternal Love.

i never understood the point of "non alcoholic beer" or for that matter coors light and bud light (oh and don't get started on that new select crap from bud) they all taste like beer flavored water.

p.s. very few bars can make a mojito the right way. 3 shots of tikila for me back to back and i am good for the first hour! http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/tongue.gif

my votes go for Rum alone, no ice, no coke, just rum. and about the wicked attempt of Diet soft drinks... lime makes no difference, they all suck badly.

Same, only nice whiskey of some kind (for me that excludes JD and Jameson), straight rums good too. Anyone up for buckfast? http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Ask your doctor: Is Tequila right for you?
no tequila for me. i always get into too much trouble when i drink that stuff. i remember something about very 'curvy' blondes.. getting into fight with some college lacross team with few of my friends.. running away from police car in the middle of night.. hmm.. i'll stick with Guinness. talking about Guinness, has any of you from UK heard of this thing called 'surger' from Guinness?

I own one! It's really, really good. I love it.

It tastes better than a lot of pints I've had in pubs. Not as good as a really well poured pint of Guinness, but better than your average one.
The surger cans are expensive though.

XangadsX 05-03-2007 03:47 AM

Maybe you can explain to all of the phillestines out there that beer is supposed to have a head on it. They can't seem to understand that a little head from time to time is a good thing.

dubballey 05-03-2007 04:17 AM

Yeah, I love a bit of head...

Good on beers too. Being in Scotland, I often get local types asking me to top up their pints to get that extra half centimeter of beer...
If it doesn't have a head on it I'd ask complain...

Smalmslobby 05-03-2007 04:24 AM

The last time I asked a barman for head... well, I don't remember what happened, but I woke up in hospital.

you should have asked barmaid for the head, not the barman..

Viz barmen and head

It depends whether they're the kind inclined to serve you a Mojito or not http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...es/biggrin.gif

Queueftof 05-03-2007 08:03 AM

I'm always inclined not to, they're a pain in the bumbum to make...

Yes, I used to live in the Puesta Del Sol gringo compound, right across the street from the Pemex facility. I miss it terribly...

Literally, yes. Idiomatically, probably not. The "gringo compound" was added by me, as it was where many of the US expats lived in Ensenada.

Xxmlqevq 05-03-2007 07:49 PM

well, sounds weird and funny anyway, "where the gringo´s sun sets" in the other hand i will hold myself back because in my country we are experts on 2nd 3rd 4th etc meanings to anything.
