As a complete beginner to kendo I have a couple or three thoughts:
1) In the first question/answer, have a link to the UASKF site's dojo locator so people can find a dojo close to them if they don't happen to be in the Memphis area. I know it may seem redundant since you have those links on the main site but it seems especially relevant when you're advising beginners where to learn about kendo. Also maybe add a couple pointers about how to recognize a potentially disreputable school. Newcomers to any martial art simply don't know what questions to ask and how to tell if they're really being taken for a ride. 2) In the other articles especially the kendo foot one, have the pics on a separate link so squeamish people don't have to see them to read through the information. I'm not sure that it's really important information to have anyway. 3) And maybe add links to recommended reading (for beginners) or other resources like the KW forum for further research. I'm sure Gendzwill sensei would appreciate a mass influx of newbs to instruct. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/laugh.gif http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/jaguar.gif regards, sean |
The school in Cleveland that's located on the CWRU campus has a FAQ that includes the question "when do we start sparring with real swords?" I forget the precise wording of the actual answer, but it has something to do with being able to shoot laser beams out your eyes (i.e. never)....
