I was wondering,
how do you keep track of dojo's member info? Things as date of birth, current grade, dates of passed exams, notable results from taikai and such. Do you use a software & computer or good old notebook & pencil? Thanks in advance, Cheers! |
Spreadsheet and
Member applications and printed copies of the spreadsheet in a 3 ring binder |
Some places just forget and re-ask via email from time to time when that pertinent info is needed.

It's not easy chasing 20+ members, all having more important thing to do than writing a reply to the question... |
I got tired of emailing our guys one year (what's your AUSKF id#? When did you pass that rank? What's your bday?), so.. last year, when SEUSKF sent dojo reps a spreadsheet to fill out and send in, I just kept it on file.
I'm in the processing of doing 2009 now and the 2008 list has come in handy in filling in a lot of empty spaces. ...I still had to refer to our club blog to find out when some people passed shinsa... that's my only backup, otherwise, I gotta email folks again. |
Be careful of what info you store - cos you become responsible for it.
Depending on the laws of data protection in your country it could become important. To be safe dont ask and store more info than is necessary. |

Same here. It's the irregulars that are hard to stay up to date with.
