Luckily my son's not on this, his list would be impressive
within the last year
Lord Attenborough,
Anthony Hopkins
Alan Rickman
Ricky Gervais
Gemma Arterton (students at college together)
Oona Chaplin (same)
Simon Pegg

that's just the ones he's told me about

In the last week:
Kate Winslet
Paul Walker

But then he works in theatre in the West End, so maybe that's cheating

I went to school and occasionally hung out with Jared Hess, the writer/director of Napolean Dynamite. He invited me to play a part in the movie, but I couldn't get work off at the time. My sister is in the movie though.

I nearly ran over the Norwegian crown princess while biking. She gave me the death stare.

Harry Jones should be disqualified from this thread, unless the people she lists are not her clients.

Met both Ozzy and Tony Iommi a couple of times (through work), bump into the guitarist and vocalist from Magnum every now and again (they are always in my home town - shopping?), a few celebs here and there - and John 'Roper' Saxon!!!
Waaah I forgot two others!

I did some HVAC design work at UB40's recording studio many moons ago, and I met Ali Campbell (singer) and Mike Virtue (keyboards).

Mike = nice guy, down to earth.

Ali = complete cock, loves himself.

My only regret in life is not putting him on his arse when I had the chance.

Bill Oddie turned up to an outdoor party I was playing at.

He gave a very boring speech about birds.

I've been involved with Canadian politics for more than a few years, so I've meet/chatted with the PM and various cabinet ministers a few times each, but really? No one important.

I'm defining "met" loosely here.

Patrick Stewart was my graduation speaker. I shook his hand while lining up outside waiting to go in as he walked by me. I was a Star Trek: Next Gen fan too...so it was sweet!

If being in physical proximity was sufficient, one of my cousins wrote music for Taiwanese Pop Singers..., so he gave me his 3rd row seat ticket to Emil Chou's concert in Taipei back in the 90's...so I was sitting next to a bunch of Asian MTV stars like Ekulele, David Wu, and others. But didn't get to say "Hi" to them because the kid that was suppose to hand me my cousin's backstage pass had the wrong name.

Oh well

BTW, do kendo celebrities count? How about a list of the 8th dans that you've keikoed with?

If I want to go 'B-list' I went to high school with Tim Busfield (plays Kevin Costner's brother in Field of Dreams), I can say I was in a production with him too.. (well I was in the pit for our high school production of Guys & Dolls which he starred in).

I am famous. Jeremy Paxman interviewed me for the politics show (ok I was only on tv for 30 seconds!) My cousin played drums in Generation X for Billy Idol and was road manager for a few bands like Oasis... at his wedding Big Country were among the guests.

I am also going to be on Rory and thingy's weird sports show for my longbow archery skills next weekend. (obviously I'm a man of many talents...)

Many senior sensei have wanted their pics taken with me at seminars when I was good enough to turn up to help out, join in etc...

A friend at school went to play for Southampton under Brian Clough, and told him to f!@ off!! Brian was awarded a degree at the same time as I got mine (but I actually got a proper one, not like his where he didn't even do a course...the cheat) and was on stage a bit later on than the 'proper' people..

A couple of my japanese mates were in Last Samurai...and I know someone who was a stormtrooper in Star Wars (he does iai in Nottingham dojo)

and as I live in Darlington I may even know the guy who nicked Jimi Hendrix's guitar when he played at the Imperial...

Bow down you lesser mortals and worship at my feet!

DON'T YOU KNOW WHO I AM????

Well if we are name dropping. I used to work for the Dallas Cowboys, dont hold that against me. So through them I have met Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin, Jerry Jones, Randy White several times, Drew Pearson, Roger Staubach, Dion Sanders, and the elusive Terrel Owens. All very nice at least to me, though i was not impressed with Aikmans handshake, kind of like a wet fish. I also had dinner once with "The Assassin Jack Tatum" The man scared me by just eating ribs. Nice guy though.

Outside that I work as an editor in Dallas and have come across Actor Barry Corbin. Very nice. Michael Martin Murphy Western Musical artist. Tom Cruise, Ehhh. That kid from the movie "Office Space" with all the flair,is one of my little brothers best freinds. He's kind of a cool guy. I watched the super bowl last year with the scary guy from the "Scream" movies. His name is Brian Avery, you never see his face but he is the guy in the costume 90% of the time.

My little bro is a stuntman in LA. he has doubled Gary Busey and Mark Dacascos, beat up Keifer Sutherland on 24, he has also been shot several time on TV. Can i claim half points for those?????

Sat next to Kris Kristofferson in church.

Met & shook hands with Mike Tyson in, of all places, a big-name American bookstore.

The singer Barry Hay of the Golden Earring practiced in our dojo a loooong time ago.
He was not a regular visitor because of the fact that he was on tour or in the studio or living the Rock star life.
They are world famous in Holland an d best known for their hit "Radar Love".
Yes, yes I told you it was a looooong time ago.
