AUSKF Rules for 2011 Tournament

Hello,

Can someone post the link for the rules for the tournament this summer? Thanks,

I don't know of a link, however there are likely to be some changes. I have it on good authority that
- Red will be required to back into the shiaijo while white will be moving forward.
- For the quarterfinals, sonkyou will be done on one foot, red, on the left and white on the right foot.
- For the semifinals and beyond, both competitors will be required to do sonkyou and then perform a handstand prior until hajime.
- Team matches will follow the new melee format. This should save a great deal of time as well as allowing for a chance for teams to demonstrate group tactics in addition to individual skills.

:-D

I almost forgot: my proposal to use squeaky toys on the men kote and do to aid shinpan will be used on a trial basis in pool competition, while instant replay will be used in the finals for all levels, again on a trial basis.

Since AUSKF is now operating under WADA rules, all competitors will be required to provide urine samples. Please recall that depending on the sport alcohol is considered a proscribed substance...and that those of you on various prescription medications will need to provide documentation sufficient for an exception (this last paragraph would be correct and true if WADA regulations were properly enforced).

Have you guys only just started doing one footed sonkyo over there...?! We've been doing it for years, nice to see you're finally getting with the times!

I was starting to think you were serious until I read this part.

Actually Alcohol _is_ on the WADA proscribed list for aviation sports and specific combat sports... I think the guys that want to put kendo under WADA rules/checks as a preparation for trying to get kendo into the Olympics need to do their homework :-]

The rules were sent to the federation presidents and should have trickled down to the coaches/competitors by now. If you have a specific concern I would be happy to address it.

Dear Mr, RFox,
You have left out the costs that are going to be incurred with regard to WADA implementation. I have done some analysis on this and it is not cheap but what when it comes to tournaments cost is no impediment to achieving our goals. Please reflect on these truths and if you are going to be in Atlanta we can share a couple of Patron. You should be about eligible for the SENOR division.

Knowing Ron's luck they will bump up the minimum age for seniors again http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif

Page, I believe Strawn sensei sent out the rules and all the reg/doc info already. If you haven't received pm me or email Strawn sensei or Souder sensei.

Ron, I thought team competition was going to be tag team format this year although the melee option sounds interesting if they are going to have all teams going at once in the newly expanded 100x100 meter shiai jo. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif
