I know its junk, the kind you buy at Radio Shack.

Fisher is the bottom of the barrel product.

Depends on your current system.

A sub is a sub, but dont expect much from this thing.

Give it a go and see what happens.

Highly incorrect, there is a world of difference between subs when it comes to sound quality.

Generally true, but if the rest of your system is built around cheap crap then it probably wouldn't make any difference what sub you used. I suspect his definition of hi-fi contains a carry handle.

calm down you 2 (the only funny thing is that its a mod that started the war )

well i dont have the system yet but its gonna be of a good quality not the best but not the worst gonna spend around 1000$ on it i was just wondering if it would destroy my sound quality since a sub only do bass

Oh right, yeh, if you're spending more than $50 on your system then a crap sub will ruin it.

The bass will be loose and uncontrolled and won't extend very low. You should be able to build a pretty good system for a grand and include a new sub in that price.

I am not attempting to start a war in any way, I am simply trying to not have him spread false information.

Really the only way to tell if it will destroy your system is if you hook it up and judge for yourself because in the end, all that matters is if you like it or not.

With that said, there are some great subs out there from Dayton, SVS, and HSU that are quite affordable and offer superb performance for the price.

It shouldn't be able to "destroy" the system unless it's got a short or open circuit and the amp' is turned up and, even then, most good systems have safety protocols built in.

He was referring to destroying the sound quality and the plate amp in any active sub will have a circuit breaker or fuse.

A subwoofer is arguably one of the most important aspects of a sound system and as dangermoose mentioned, can cloud the sound quality.
