Default East vs West Coast
Maybe it's a life style difference influenced by the weather; but did anyone else notice the differences in cuisine between the Paph Guild meeting in California and the NCOS Paph Forum in D.C.?!? Steak, duck or seafood medley vs sandwiches!!! I'm not complaining but is sure goes along w/ the saying, " If a California person has a day off they'll spend it reading w/ a glass of wine or a cup of tea; whereas the New Yorker will fill that day finding things to do that they usually don't have the time to do!"

I'm not hating, I'm just saying!
Left Side-choice for lunch: Char-broiled chicken breast sandwich, chicken breast on a croissant with smoked ham and cheddar cheese and Pasta salad or Cobb Salad, Bacon, avacado, and turkey breast on chopped romaine hearts w/ blue cheese, hard boiled egg and tomato!
Right side-Roast beast, grilled chicken, grilled veggie, or Tuna salad sandwich in a box lunch. You wanna trade!?

The food served at the Paph Guild is as poor as the choice is.
It in no way represents the eating habits of the local population.
Note that most visitors to the Inn at Morro Bay are from out of state.

Heck, enjoy! You only live once; might as well indulge a little.

I think you are over-generalizing, Eric.

We eat very well on the east coast and my sister eats very well on the west. Maybe the budget is smaller, did you ever think of that? Food has gotten pretty pricey lately and lest we forget, these are non-profit organizations we are talking about here. Give 'em a break!
