Default Perfume in the Office.
The problem is my old firm had about a 98% male population. Life was so much simpler back then...

It's about 70% female here as I'm on the marketing floor. Female ARTS GRADUATES.

I'm also one of the only men here under 30.

It's disgusting the attention I get. It bothers me.

Do they know you're gay yet?

Nope. I keep that out of the office.

They do know I have fiance, which is no lie. They just assume the gender.

Oh god. If you told them you were gay you would be like soo payopular. If there are females in charge of anything you'd get an immediate raise and weekly group trips to JCrew.

There's no females at all in my chain of command. There's only 3 people above me up to the CEO/President right now and they're all male. These females are in other departments.

Handling the perfume problem is easy. Just wait until the next time you have allergies or just have the sniffles from a cold. Then go to HR and say you went to the doctor and he speculated that you were having an allergic reaction to the perfume. I've seen this tactic work at least 5 or 6 times.

Another colleague (who I do not know) was visiting the office yesterday while on mat leave. Not only did this trigger about 2 hours worth of women congregating, oohing, ahhing, and giggling...but she brought her 2 month old and 3 year old to the office for 2 hours! And they cried and needed diaper changes, etc.
OMFG I HATE THAT ****, forget about perfume. I DON'T GIVE A **** ABOUT THAT BALL OF FLESH YOU SHAT OUT A MONTH AGO LADY, GET BACK TO WORK!

It's an example of me generating community content at a site. Far more than some dipshits do for this site.

By the way, I don't like perfume in the office either. But a couple years ago, I had a hot colleague who wore perfume that drove me wild -- couldn't continue my work for hours after I saw her.
Good looking people naturally get away with a lot.

The woman wearing perfume is not at all good looking. She's 45-ish with 4 kids and she obviously doesn't care anymore. I guess she thinks the perfume makes up for it...so she needs a lot.

It's an interesting dilemma. At my old job, it was almost exclusively men but also almost exclusively unattractive men.
I don't see what's wrong with that. Far fewer distractions.

I hate offensive smells in the office in general.

So, for now on you should microwave tuna salad on high for like 5 minutes to give the whole office that fish smell. They'll eventually complain and you make a deal with them to stop wearing perfume and you'll stop microwaving nasties.

Kids in the office is annoying too, especially when it distracts half the employees. Post pics of random kids around your cube, when people ask who they are just say "oh, some kids I see around." That will stop people from bring kids around you.

Better be carefull. Half the people in your office may quit and start their own company.

If everyone else in the office could look up and see your desk, I wouldn't be too concerned about that one that had to google it.

The same exact thing happened to me this morning too...man that's annoying. I just started screaming "I'm gonna kill you Ovechkin" and everyone ran
Oooo. Who are you and where did you come from?

Only if you insult the CFC moderation levels, and make some dirty euphemism about pandas.

Otherwise GTFO.
