X-Ray Spex: World Turned Day Glo
I always thought of this as an anti-nuke song 'cuz of the title. Nice run down of female punks of the past in the vid.

Men at Work: It's a Mistake. I always liked this song of theirs best, but never hear it on the radio anymore. It's always Down Under.

Of course I gotta put in Nena: 99 Luft Balons. I'm sure this has been posted before but it fits here.

I always like that X-Ray Specs number. I read somewhere that Poly Styrene became a religious loony.

Anyway, this thread needs some real "music" music.

This is one of the finest and most seminal pieces of American music ever composed. It's even on the Voyager record.

Blind Willie Johnson "Dark Was the Night... Cold Was the Ground" (recorded in the late 20s IIRC)

And for something completely different: Leon Redbone on the Johnny Carson Show

Blind Willie Joihnson. Very good. He was one of the earlier ones. AAHZ, you might should think about taking a cue from Agathon. Broaden your scope of interest a little. I'm just saying, for what it's worth. Not much, I know, but still...

I couldn't find a Youtube clip of Missisippi John Hurt's Stack 'O Lee Blues, which is pretty awesome.

Here's another master of the country blues: Skip James - "I'm So Glad"

And for something different

It would be nice if some of the people in these videos could actually play their instruments properly. Too much modern pop music is played by incompetents.

If you want to see people who can really play, check out the Emmanuel Brothers. I saw them play in Sydney about 20 years ago. A mate of my dad's saw them in a Toowoomba pub back in the 80s and used to send tapes.

Guitar Hero can kiss their asses.

Of all people, Dolly Parton does to Collective Soul's "Shine" what Johnny Cash did to NIN's "Hurt"... only better.

This is really naff, but it is the number one sing along song if you go to a party full of Maoris. Every single person in New Zealand knows this song.

Max Merritt & the Meteors – Slippin Away

To make up for that, the best cut from The Jam
