And just look how far society has come - where the gay man and the straight man can come together to chastise the girly man with one united front. This is how it should be. And Balvenie is making me happy. I love you guys. But not like that. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Sure there is. You're not a maaaaaan unless each swig is like a punch in the face. QED.

If you like any so-called "whiskey" that tends to be "smooth," you might as well go buy a bottle of peach schnapps, mix it with some RC Cola, and put a pink streak in your hair.

I used to like the Macallan.... 18 was good, at least at the time (1999). I got a bottle of 12 a few years back for my birthday, and found I just couldn't take it anymore. I'm off Scotch.

Dalwhinnie, Walker red and black, Crown, Tomintoul, Glenmorangie, Balvenie

The three at the back are tough. I'll take wild stabs and go Aberlour, Macallan 18 yrs, and...Benmorach (these three based solely on the fact that the two single malts I do recognize are Speysides also)

Personally I like peaty scotches. My fave is probably Ardbeg. Flavour punches you in the back of the throat.

You like Maker's because they have some of the coolest bottles ever. I love me the hand-dipped wax.
I drank Manhattans with this:

on New Year's. Very nice (bottle and flavour).

I drink all sorts of drinks. Liquor, beer, mixed drinks, girly mixed drinks. There's nothing wrong with liking any of those.

My mom's husband drinks whiskey, but all he drinks is chilled stuff (and sorta cheap). I think the nicer bottle he had was Black Velvet (which was drinkable, but maybe just because it was still a bit cold, I was trying to let it warm up to get the full flavor).

He also mixes it with coke. I really don't understand that, if you just want the alcohol then use Rum or Vodka. The point of (good) whiskey is the flavor.

(and bad alcohol is not worth drinking)

Hot chocolate with Bailey's is also delicious.

Yeah, that is good.

One of my friends bought cask and cream to use instead of Bailey's.

It is so much worse , hardly palatable even in mixed drinks

Even expensive vodka (and I like grey goose and stoli/etc) still doesn't have the flavor of whisky

Most cheap whiskeys are comparable with (cheap) rum and vodka - they need the soda to be drinkable.

There is a heck of difference betwen "cheap" and good vodka - just like there is with whiskey. Though, I must admit that there isn't that must taste in good vodka, but it is there.
I know there is a huge difference, I don't drink cheap vodka either.

And I know there can be flavor to Rum, I don't like it as much though.
