Do one better than him and get yourself an iPhone. 3G support + Phone.

I'm not an apple fan at all, but the iPhone is one of the best purchases I have ever made. There is a lot of information I need quick access to, and the iPhone gives me that, the AppStore is of equal value as the Phone itself. I clear my emails before I even reach office, I watch high quality TED videos, play a game maybe, check exchange rates, check weather in countries I am traveling to, using an app, I double it as a USB drive (8gig). Of course, most of this you can do with the iTouch, but without 3G support, you are disconnected from the world.

Imagine what happens if you were stuck in the middle of the Sahara!?? If you're stuck with your brother, you're screwed. If you're with me, we're saved!

My brother got a Mac Book Pro in the summer of 2006. Now, his battery only allows for about 5 minutes of use before powering down. The bad life span of many laptop lithium-ion batteries is probably related to the heat generated by the machine.
