Default Serenity is on SciFi now
I had seen the movie by rental long before I knew it was based on the TV series. I later watched the series, which is one of my all time favourites.

Such a shame it won't be more than one Season... ever.

My wife and I were a huge fans of the series -- we own both it and the movie on DVD.

The movie was bittersweet for me and other fans of the original series. Two major characters get killed, one of them kind of offhandedly and randomly, plus the knowledge that this would be the last hurrah for my plucky band of space cowboys. But yes, the flick was awesome.

I thought it was a load of tripe, to be honest.

The series played out of order and with weeks strangely missing on Fox, not on Sci-Fi.

The movie needed to gross $35 million in order for Joss Wheedon to make any sequels. I don't think it made it. Wish SciFi would buy the rights to the series and start producing it.

Whedon has moved on. The Firefly franchise is dead.

A long, long time, rest in peace. Still series and movie were good. The series stayed enigmatic and confusing about the strange girl for way too long. But it did include the concubine mentioned by NGR. Overall Josh saw it as a western in space, and not enough fans of those two genres were willing to support it.

I wasn't talking about the escort (who was also super fine). I was talking about the captain's wife.
Are you talking about "Saffron". A character played by Christina Hendricks (who was indeed hot).
She was only in two episodes of the program and not a regular character.
