From what I recall of customs rules, you are considered to be in the country you left until you pass customs in the new country (though on the ground I suspect you'd be subject to their laws anyway). |

The outwardly opening doors on all jetliners work on a "plug" principle -- they pull in, then they swing open. They won't "pull in" at high altitudes, and therefore they won't open. Cargo doors are a different manner, but they are not accessible by passengers. |
