Up until about 3 weeks ago I used to shave my head and my face with soap and a mach3 while I was in the shower.
I was bored one night and figured I'd do some reading on shaving and read about "wet shaving" so I went out and bought a Merkur HD double edged razor, Best Badger brush from Crabtree and Evelyn and some Sienna Shaving Cream and I'll I can say is WOW. No more razor burn at all and one CLOSE shave. I'm done with multi bladed razors except for on my head cause using the double edged razor blindly on the back of my head would probably result in major blood loss! lol Any other wet shavers out there and what do you use? |

Mach 3 here as well.
I tried the Headblade about a week ago and TBH I wasn't really impressed. Maybe I was just holding it wrong. It was fast and worked like a charm on the top of my head, but towards the back it just wouldn't get a close shave, and it was absolutely useless for the face. ![]() What's this "wet shave" you're talking about? |

I have yet to cut myself, just using a brush and a quality cream makes a world of difference.
This is the razor I now use: www.leesrazors.com/productImages/merkur/12c.jpg |

Google image "cut throat razor" i wouldnt even goto one of those pro barber shops where you can be shaved with a cut throat by someone who knows what there doing either. if there were no proper razors i think i would just use scisors and live with the bit of hair you cant get at lol, i used to just shave with some clippers years ago before they broke lol, i found them much better than some £90 electric razor my wife bought me a few years ago |

Those things scare the crap out of me, and don't give me any better shave. So far the best thing for my is my electric. My facial hair sucks. I'm a redhead, and apparently its a bit softer than most and gives razors some troubles. It just doesn't want to cut right, or cut close. So I end up with less than smooth shave. Oh well.

Ive always dry shaved with my Mach 3 razor. No water no lotion or creams, just me and the razor. Never had a problem. But when the blade gets dull you know it. |

I just brought a couple of disposable razors (Wilkinson Sword) with me to Japan. Wish I'd also brought my Nivea sensitive shaving foam as I have very sensitive skin though the shaving foam here aint too bad. I only ever seem to get a shave rash on my neck though.
I dunno if anyone else does this, but I always go over with an electric razor before using the razor blades. Oh and another thing - here in Japan they wet shave around your ears and neck after having a hair cut! |
