No sneezing? Last time i had 'flu' it turned out to be throat inflammation/infection (not sure about the correct term) and the no sneezing was almost only thing different from flu.

Well, this easily explains your POV's (that our you being Canadian! ).

This flu sucks. It doesn't make you as sick as past flus, but it doesn't want to leave. It sticks around and makes you miserable for a long time. My wife, oldest kid and I had it all at the same time. Bleh.

Time is the best remedy. Best way to pass the time: Civ.

Donogeal - Yeah. I get the flu most every year but as I am not to ancient yet and am in otherwise good health I just tough it out rather than get flu shots. This years version doesn't seem as intense as usual but it sure is lingering.

Tuberski - I must confess I have been smoking it (along with my cigarettes) and I agree it does my lungs no good. It works wonders for the aching bones and muscles however. A trade-off.

CrONoS - I can't watch video when ill. It doesn't distract me enough. Posting at Poly does however.

GM cars. I get a family discount that makes it cost effective for me. I have no particular love for NA cars I only insist it be a car and not a Go-Cart.

Donogeal - I actually reinstalled Civ yesterday and played my first game in quite some time.

As to the vitamins. I understand your point but if I reach the state where I can no longer eat then I can't stay here.

Damn.

Kid - The clip is 12-13 minutes long but very informative and entertaining. I'm curious why you advocate bottled water - safety, purity, or taste?

If you are not able to see any difference between your tap water and a good kind of bottled water it's because you smoke a lot too much.

Really, tap water do taste something. The worst thing is when you leave your tap water for 30 minutes and drink it after.... yarkk

Tap water only tastes bad in cities that over-chlorinate. Most tap water has a more interesting combination of minerals than bottled... and bottled waters taste like the plastic they're bottled in to some extent (=chlorine usually...)

I've seen the show.
At the sames times there is a show here in Quebec (called Les francs tireurs) which tested 4 kind of different water (compared to the water of Montreal). Montreal water was smelling worst and taste worst.

I don't say that bottling water is better for your health (which I don't believe) but tap water is not as good on taste for any people which is sensible to odor.

If you have foul smelling municipal water I can understand it, but most of us don't. Bottled water is an example of brilliant marketing that managed to convince people they need something that they didn't need.

Then of course is the environmental damage caused by the industry but that's another issue...

I can't possibly get away. Just juggling my work schedule for each day I miss is hard for me and my colleagues. I worked last Friday and I'm scheduled for work tomorrow.

VitC is of course a good idea. I have a tasty California orange in front of me.

Here tap water is excellent too, and often much better than certain sorts of bottled water.

Water

Beer

Our systems pretty efficiently handle small quantities of the metals our pipes are made out of. Plastics on the other hand can be much more insidious. Bottled water can be bad too, but I find it hard to believe that it's worse than tap water. When I moved here to Oklahoma City and took a shower in unfiltered water I couldn't stop sneezing. The steam was making the toxins enter my sinuses, and I must not have been used to the specific toxins in this water.

It's better to drink water you filter yourself, but I'll take bottled water of tap water any day.
