i would NEVER do this for a woman. She could eat iron nails covered in lemonjuice for all i care.
"OH NO IVE MADE HER MAD! BOO-HOO-HOO!" lemonjuice. nails. |
The thread topic turned out to be what I thought it was when I saw the subject. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/scared.gif But now I wonder, why wasn't it "Snip! Snip!"?

I have no idea why people do this.... I think its so they never have to wear condoms (as long as they are sure their partner doesn't have STDs, of course). |
Not all of them, I'd guess http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/wink.gif.
And for a few of them, I guess the hormones may play havoc with 'em. And I'd guess getting 'em snipped is safer, because no fear of "missing a day". |

Well... blah. That sucked.
Turns out my doctor is a minimalist. A minimalist of anastetic. Several times during the surgery I had to tell him that it was hurting. Not fun. Now I'm sitting here with a bag of frozen blueberries (so much more appropriate than peas) on my nuts while they feel like the lingering after effects of getting kicked. The good news about all this is my wife is a good guilty catholic so I can expect lots of good things later. I did it for a couple of reasons. Number one being that my wife had cut me off until it was done. Yes, she was on the pill, but thats not 100% and there is always the 'missed day'. Number two is that my family is complete. I have a great wife and two beautiful little girls (Aurora 2, Jordan 1). I have no desire for any more children, even if something unthinkable were to happen. Third is health. Not mine, but my wifes. A vasectomy is an out patient surgery that takes an hour. A tubu-la-tie-in-not-omy is much more invasive, in patient and requires a general anastetic. It is MUCH more dangerous. Now I'll wait and see how recovery goes. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ies/scared.gif |
Somehow I thought you had a son.

I'd consider doing it at some point (we haven't made the go/no-go decision on kids yet, but it's looking more and more like a no) so my wife doesn't have to keep taking the pill. But I'd be PISSED if she tried to force me into it. -Arrian |
It's her body. If she refuses to have sex with me, thats her choice, no... it's her right. Married or not, I can't make her have sex with me. Plus, it really is best for us as Husband and Wife.
|
There's also more practical considerations why it's now viewed better for the male to get the snip snip instead of the female:
Cost (in Australia at least) - Vasectomy: $350 - Hysterectomy: $25,000 Time - Male: an hour - Female: a week in recovery Risk - Male: none - Female: risks of infection and internal bleeding I won't allow that to happen to my wife, so I'll sign up instead when the time comes. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...lies/smile.gif |
You're not a catholic and neither is your wife, stop claiming you are. It appears all you want is sex and she wants to manipulate you into doing invasive surgeries. What a couple http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif

What a couple http://www.discussworldissues.com/im...ons/icon14.gif I have never claimed to be a Catholic. I'm... Christian... sort of... and non-denominational and non-practicing at that. |
sometimes youve got to do what youve got to do. it would be nice if there was another solution but sadly vasectomy seems inevitable after having kids

I'm glad this solution works for you but personally I could never, ever, ever, ever get one.
