Default Sky Installation question
Ive just moved and had a new sky box installed, why do i have 2 wires running from the sat dish to the sky plus box?? seems odd to me i was surprised to see 2 holes in my wall.

Anyone any ideas?

If you have Sky+ you need two feeds to the box.
This is so you can use the various features such as:

Recording one channel whilst watching another
Recording two channels whilst watching something back you've already recorded

I think it's just the 2 signals that come from the dish, enables sky+ to record 2 different channels at the same time, I could be wrong though.

Indeed. A Sky+ box has two tuners in it; that's why you need two cables.

Trust me - if you want to use Sky+ features you need two feeds from the dish.
With a single feed your Sky+ box will act just like a Sky classic box.

Its set up the exact same way as the multi channel setup, where you have more than one decoder only instead of having 2 different cables running to each room from the LNB the other cable goes into the back of the Sky+ box. the Sky+box is basically a standard decoder with a harddrive and software recording feature. The LNB is capable of supporting a number of seperate decoders for multiroom or sky+ subscriptions
