Hey everyone. So I thought I was going to attend The Art Institute in Jacksonville starting in October, but unfortunately I cannot afford it even with the financial aid.
I was wondering if anyone knows of any really good design schools in the US that have great curriculum's but are not unrealistically expensive. I mean $90,000 for 3 years at The Art Institute was way to pricey for myself and my family. I would want to get a Bachelors in Graphic Design / Interactive Media / Multimedia - anyone of those three. So if you guys know of any, please post. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

I am taking Graphics Design/Interactive Media from a local private uni. I would have to check for you but its in the neighbor hood of 30-40k for 3 years I believe. As long as you stay a village student then there isn't any stupid private school rules to worry about.
They have good job placement for their graphics department, many animators go on to Pixar and Disney and the such. And they find you a guaranteed job before you graduate. It isn't purely a design college though. If you are interested PM me I could get you some more info, and check those numbers. |

Why though? What if it's a big school that has a excellent design program but also other stuff too. How does having it be a design only school make the design program better? |

Its not too far away from home. I have always heard of Savannah College of Art and Design to be among the best here in the Southeast.
This website has helped me out. http://www.a2zcolleges.com/arts/Grap...ign/Index.html I am thinking of leaving the CompSci field and move on the Meteorology. When I first thought of it, I couldn't think of one school that offers a degree for it. Then I found this places, and come to find out, only some 50 colleges in the US have meteorology as a degree coarse. This website will have every college that offers it as a degree, even if it isn't just an Art school, but then it will also shows those as well. I think that I know which school mzman is talking about and it does have a very good program which is going to be expanding into a new building in 2 to 3 years. But I think that it is going to be a little bit more then that for 3 years, plus if you don't chill here to become resident, you are going to have to pay almost double for out of state. |
