Back in my day, I would walk to and from school, 1 mile both ways on a flat surface in nice sunny weather, or sometimes a bit of rain. These days, I drive near a school after it's out, and there is no one walking. The streets towards the school are completely blocked with SUVs, both parking on the streets and stopped in the middle of the road because they want to park in the really tiny parking lot. I no longer see the large buses either, just the smaller ones.

So I ask: Is it like this where you are, or do kids walk or ride the bus?
