Thoughts along the journey
 

Someone once said, on this forum long ago, that every now and then I came up with a poetic line. Well, I started my attempt at writing poetry and prose in the mid -seventies. Regardless of all that however, this is for someone's edification.


Again and again Get up my
fair one and come
I grow weary from following
have I no resting place

Strength vanished long ago
with giddy elation waning
into the darkness
of silent ignorance

Arise my beloved
and come away
I rise as in a fog
where else can I go


The journey continues
fatigue and resolution
fading merging into
reflexes of repentance

The eyes no longer
are in shadow the
invitation is light
and understanding

Arise my fair one
I have been called
to move and that
not without direction

My ugliness is beauty
to He who offered
not a sharp tongue
but his presence

An indescribable
resonance has taken
form in the person
of the Bridegroom

Arise my fair one
and come is strength
encouragement light
and the deepest love
