AD-Aware -lavasoft.com anti-spyware
Spybot -http://www.safer-networking.org anti-spyware +MOAR! :awesome:
ZoneAlarm -zonealarm.com - firewall

I personally use these ones and I'm completely satisfied

except MRT144, it is amazing people like him know how to breathe Datajack's suggestions are good; also consider Kerio Personal Firewall 4 which although becoming long in the tooth is a very powerful and easily configurable firewall for 32bit windows XP/2000...

Since I have moved on to Vista I have been using Kaspersky Internet Security 6 (works well but costs $$)...
