Oh i see. I hvent been active on IRC since before I joined YF.

You guys probably don't need irc with YF being enough awesome.

Also, wat is Daemon? Apparently its on my computer taking up a lot of RAM, and I don't know what it does for me.

yah, you can run iso files off of a virtual drive without burning it onto a cd/dvd

if you just wanna stick to the basics go for:

Antivirus software of some sort Spybot Search & Destroy
firefox
microsoft office Openoffice.org
AIM/MSN/Yahoo!

thats pretty much all I use apart from games lol.

I agree with this revision.

I also generally use linux so all of my software is free/opensource, is nice ^^ not that i have anything against windows, its just cheaper and easier on hardware (i myself have a dedicated XP computer and win2k3 server.)

avast > spybot
trillion > aim/msn/yahoo

i have openoffice on my desktop but am happy to have a free version of microsoft office on my laptop

openoffice sucks tbh. It's free and all but I am not a fan of it.
I prefer AVG over avast/norton.
