Funny.. I thought that as long as it was establishment-challenging, left-leaning, pro-[insert horribly oppressed minorty here], or any combination thereof, it could get airtime on NPR..
I can say that as very regular listener and supporter of my local station. |

One little NPR liberal action: Former VP Mondale was running for senator from Minnesota, having been appointed to run upon the death of the liberal Wellstone right before the election.
The day before the election, NPR does a story about something or other where they just HAD to use extensive audio clips of WALTER MONDALE! Clever, free publiticty for a liberal candidate. |

I’ve got to learn to keep my politics to myself. There are other forums for venting this sort of stuff and I’ve already managed to offend one love-scent customers.
But... I do find it troubling that NPR has a business update and no labor update. The Palestinian viewpoint doesn’t seem to be getting across. And there are many dissident voices in America that I wouldn’t even know about unless I “tuned in” to Real Audio broadcasts from http://www.webactive.com/ For whatever it’s worth, here’s a recent study on white male bias in NPR: http://www.fair.org/extra/0209/white-noise.html |
