Pleasure was all ours! We all very much enjoyed meeting you and hubby. Quite a nice guy! Too bad you two are not staying around NVa -- or perhaps I should say, too bad it took us all so long to meet. Could have had a couple of DC-DR1 mini-reunions by now!

King of dice, kjdrga and anyone else living in the DC metro area or just passing through here next Thursday night, PM or e-mail me ASAP and let's pull together the details. MG & I think maybe meeting at a pizza joint or some such in Tyson's Corner, since that's roughly midway for the four of us and relatively easy for everyone to find. All suggestions welcome. BTW, I checked and there isn't a Bertucci's in Tysons (only in Springfield, Arlington or Herndon). I'll check on options.

There is the California pizza place in Tyson's 1, there used to be a Bertucci's across the street but was torn down I believe for the new parking garage that has been built.

There is a Sbarro in the mall and a Pizza Hut across the street as well.

Just let me know when and where I hope to make it!

Not sure what happened to MG (hope it wasn't difficulty with my directions, MG!), but we had an enjoyable evening anyway. Sorry we didn't get the chance to give you a proper send-off, Amity! Good luck with the new life back in Maine, and remember that whenever you & hubby are back in the area, you have an open invitation to dinner (or even just ice cream!) at the Ripley household.

My wife and I enjoyed meeting kingofdice & Superstar. Nice guys, both! Particularly enjoyed dice's tales of his last visit to the DR.

Maybe with a bit more lead time next time, we can build on this base to have a larger, more rowdy (in fine DR1 tradition) get-together for DC Area DR1ers next time.

Let's see if we can pull this off. Looks like the group will be small, but what the hey. Let's give Amity (MaineGirl) a send-off to remember.

The question of a good restaurant in the Tysons Corner area has been vexing for me. I suggest the California Pizza Kitchen in Tysons I, at 7 pm, Thursday, June 5. I've never been there, but hear that it's good. Even if not, we can always find some other place within the mall to go to, or drive to nearby Clyde's. Actually, I thought about doing it at Clyde's which has both regular food & bar food (sandwiches, etc.) and a good selection of beers, wines & drinks, but it can be pricey if you're not careful and I wasn't sure I could give Amity good directions for finding it! So I settled for pizza and beer. IF SOMEONE KNOWS OF A BETTER PLACE, SPEAK UP NOW!

My wife promises to attend -- she's curious what DR1ers are like. heehee

I'm also trying to convince former DR1 regular Natasha to attend, but that's tough since she's a new mom, and they don't like being separated from baby! :-/

I've sent most of you an email with my contact info -- I suggest you tote my cell number just in case we somehow miss connecting (such as someone arriving late, after we've decided to move to a different locale).

Sorry you can't make it! The offer still stands for an ice-cold Presidente next time you're up DC-way. Just remember, though, I'll be spending July basking in the DR sun and sipping las bien frias, ¡ceniza! , so you can't collect on the offer then!
