[Abaronos]

...i bring you 2 stories from work tonight. as probably none of you know i wait tables and its the graveyard shift from 10 pm to 6 am. and tonight was no different.

so here i was it was 11:30 and i got my first table. i thought to myself maybe ill make a decent tip its a mom, dad, son and his gf. they order about $50.00 worth of food and i didnt even charge them for their drinks, cause after all i was falling in the depths of christmas spirit. anywho, when they left they paid with credit card and i even checked them out, no tip on the card. so i thought to myself that they must have left something on the table, so i went and checked and sure enough there wasnt a dime.

i quickly ran outside and lit up a smoke (we have to go out front now to smoke thanks to stupid new dallas laws) and i caught the family as they were leading. i went up to the car and asked the father how come he thought i didnt deserve a tip and his wife quickly responded with 'well you waiters make about $6 an hour anyways." i politely replied with a 'do you honestly thing that?" and she responded with a sharp 'yes.' so i wished them on their way. i mean you cant get to mad at ignorance can you? (i make $2.13 an hour by the way and i didnt let them know because i thought the making $6 an hour was honestly a joke)

and it doesnt get any better from there either. i was pretty mad at this point it was about 12:30 and i still had $0 from tips to my name. so he comes a couple of people and i gladly take their business. firstly the man ordered a breakfast plate and his gf ordered a tbone steak and of course changed everything around. so i go tell the cooks what she wants instead. oh and her coffee was bad so i made some fresh, brought it out to her and she complained about that too. whatever, im still not all that mad right now. anyways, i bring out their food and the man eats all of his up quick before the lady really starts her. now i dont know if you guys know this or not, but it doesnt take much too fill up a girl when she is hungry, yet this women got a tbone and hashbrowns and toast. she quickly easts HALF of everything then waves me over and says the steak was bad.

at the point i take the steak and just go in the back and through it in the sink were they wash dishes. i get my manager to take off the steak meal AND her coffee and i return to the table being polite and say im sorry and i took it off. well now their bill comes to $8.65. i cash the man out and he leaves a ten and walks out. i kindly say 'sir you forgot your change' and he replays 'nah dawg that shiz fo yo bro' and i kindly repeat 'you forgot your change sir' and he said something under his breath and i just yelled 'i dont need your god damn dollar and thirty five cents so come and get your ****ing change' i quickly went to the back told my manager i was leaving got my jacket and left. and ironically the $1.35 was missing from the counter when i was heading out the front door. i know that POS came back and got it.

anyways thats the story of my work night... turns out 4 hours and i got about $12.00 before taxes from it. i just love the holiday ****ing season and sorry, i had to vent somewhere. good thing i got that other $80 to my name to support myself with for a while.
