Default Forest Fire next to the city
It's very surreal driving around - looks like it's wartime or something.

You can see the smoke clearly from Sackville, which is 30 kilometers away. This is the second forest fire near Halifax (Nova Scotia, Canada) this year - there was also one in fall. Sadly they've both taken some homes, but no deaths.

Making things worse is that there's only light rain today. It's getting worse (there's a lot of dead trees on the ground feeding it, from the hurricane we had 4-5 years ago).

Having personally witnessed devastating wildfires in Los Angeles and here in New Mexico, I know how scary they can be. Hope they get it under control soon, with minimal damage and no loss of life.

The fires are now under control - it thankfully rained harder than expected. They estimate 8 houses burned to the ground. Nothing like the wildfires down south, but it's still pretty scary. Now that I'm a home owner I'm worried about this type of thing...
