Hey CSS... it's been a while
Hey CSS. What's up?
I've been browsing the site more often lately now that school is finally over (This past year sucked liked no other), and I thought I'd say hello (Well there is another reason for posting this, put that'll come later http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif ). Not much has happened this past year other than a nasty accident I was involved in (http://i64.photobucket.com/alb...2.jpg). No, I wasn't driving, and no, there were thankfully zero injuries. Other than that, it's been the usual high school drama (Troubled relationships, severe lack of sleep, awkward turtle, etc.) for me. BTW, around Christmas, Fresa sent me a link of some kind words that many of you had posted about me, and I was truly honored. Anyway, there's a real purpose to this thread (Who would have guessed?), so let me give you the dilemma. I'll be spending a good deal of time in Europe this summer (UK for a couple of days followed by a month in France) and I need a cell phone for the stay. Sadly, I'm clueless about what to do. I want a simple pre-paid cell phone that'll work, and nothing more. I've though about picking up something from Vodafone while in the UK and then using it in France. Will this work? I won't need too much talk time, and remember that it'll only be for a month. Thanks a bunch. |
Its nice to see that you're back! Sorry to hear about your accident and I'm glad your'e ok. About your phone problem, I dont know much but i believe T-Mobile has pre-paid phones that you can use in Europe where they have coverage. You'll have to look into it as I'm too lazy :)

if you want a cheap decent phone get a MOTOFONE F3...
.. there the cheapest phone on most markets, quad-band and stylish |
Hi mate. It's been a while. I thought you were still here but just changed your name. Great to here from you.

Rob!!!!! Awesome to see you back! CSS is like a billion times better with you arround! http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif
Sorry to hear about the accident, but good to know everyone was fine. I was also relieved to see it wasn't your car! Anyway, dont know about the cell phone. But dont go to Europe man, Go to Australia, and come visit http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emwink.gif Haha.... Its like 100 times better! http://www.germancarfans.com/images/...lewinkgrin.gif |
Vodafone and T-mobile both offer pre-paid, so once you get out of the airport, just seek out one of those carrier's stores. Their websites actually feature pre-paid plans prominently, so just google "T-mobile UK" and "vodafone" and click the first link that you get.
We've all missed you. ;D |
Heya, man! Welcome back http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/embeer.gif We'd all been wondering where you'd gone off to, good to see that--despite the setbacks--you're doing okay.
When I studied in Spain I had Vodafone... it was decently cheap and stupidly simple. Pay as you go, recharge at basically any convenience store. I know I could use mine in other countries but it was obviously much more expensive... so I guess it just depends on whether or not you'll be staying in one place for long, or whether you want to spring for an international plan. Have you considered adding international calling to your current cell plan? That's what we did last time we went to Europe and it didn't end up costing too much. That's all I got http://www.germancarfans.com/images/forums/nixweiss.gif |
Ahh international calling cost so much when I used it...
...but it's probably cheaper in Europe than in Asia. |

So then you had a Spanish number for the cell? How expensive were international rates? I'll be in France for most of the trip, so I guess I'll get it there then. I have a prepaid account with AT&T Craperless right now, so adding international calling might be a bit much, haha. Sweet, thanks for the advice so far folks http://images.zeroforum.com/smile/emthup.gif |
