Default Graduation 2006

My 3 friends all graduated on Sunday. Ceremony was good, lengthy tedious speeches, the valedictorian sang a song from broadway :-\ they picked up their diplomas that were just rolled blank pieces of what seemed to be like cartography paper, lunch @ Bobby Vans afterwards. Proud of them. What was your College/High School graduation like?

I am recent college graduate (a few years now). Here is my reflection:
High points after college:
1) No more worries of homework, projects, exams, etc
2) You can finally be on your own, by that I mean even financially (and if you are able to get a good salaried job, you might even have a buck or two saved)
3) You get to enjoy a lot things you weren't able to enjoy before
(more...)
Low points after college:
1) The wild and fun times in college
2) Friends you left behind - not intentionally but as time passes (espeically working in different cities or even countries), everyone's got their own things going on...
3) You've got real-life responsibilties now - get used to them
(more...)
DSC-OFF, congrats to you and your friends...good luck to you all. Wait, you had two different graduation? The college I went to, even if you graduated in winter, you'd still have to "walk" with everyone in May...

Mine was me and about 600-700 of my classmates, which means that it wasn't exactly personal. Many of us handed the principal pennies when he handed us the diploma, which was pretty funny.
My college graduation from Virginia Tech I didn't attend. My parents & siblings were all in different countries at the time and the school was only handing out blank paper (the real diploma came some 4 month's later in the mail). That plus it was cold, rainy, and I think the speaker was Gloria Steinem, so I passed.
I've already been advised that I will not be missing my grad-school graduation from NYU.

Mine was last year in June and I had a severe ear infection that became rather obtrusive and somewhat dangerous and it was killing me, so I was wearing a black wool hat thingie (forget its name) earning me one last nickname in school, before I left (considering I'm pretty white and slightly rebelious and was wearing that hat) - Eminem. Hated it but oh well....
To make things worse, the speeches were long, my ear was killing me, and this teacher who I have all the reasons on earth to hate gave the longest, ****est speach and I was about to walk away....
I hated that teacher because she raised such a bad image of me amongst people, because of such unfair reasons, that if I had been in a modern country I would have sued her. For example, in one of her "lets show the school what a b!tch I am" she accused me of attacking some 15 year old kids with sticks and beating them down to the ground. Truth was that the "kids" I was attacking were from my mountain bike team, and we were playing soccer and one of them hit a dead branch with the ball, which fell on the ground, which I grabbed and threw it out of the way onto some bushes. I had each one of them go in to the discipline department where the teacher took me and testify wether or not I was beating them, but the b!tch said she didn't need witnesses because she knew what she saw and that she'd do this and that to me and I dont know what. Soon enough all teachers were looking at me kind of strange and they keps asking me random questions about why I, being the nice guy they had always known, had decided to abuse of some 15 year old kids. Damn school became terrible back then.
Anyway there I was in this graduation ceremony, listening to this b!tch speak for over 45 minutes about the most random nonsense, with my other ear making me nearly cry, and graduating next to 100 students I had shared the last 13 years of my life with, but none of them were my friends.
It was really sh!t....

I graduate from high school on June 2nd, and hopefully it will be great. Our school stadium is being renovated, so we are having it at the Dodge Arena which will be pretty cool. After that, I will be attending The University of Texas at Dallas in the Fall, on full scholarship.

Thanks. Yeah, I dont have to deal with ANYONE any more - not that dumb teacher, not anyone else that annoyed me so much back then. How cool is that! lol.

I just graduated last weekend... Billy Joel was our commencement speaker. He was definitely drunk and just making up a speech it was terrible, yet somehow so appropriate. Then he made up a song about coming to visit Syracuse and just sang. It was so bad, but so incredibly awesome.
