I guess I phrased that last bit rather poorly. I know the whole thing was to drive hits to his website, and the story was stupid enough to not be true. And I know they aren't the first ones to ever do something like this. (Subservient Chicken, anyone?) That much is obvious. However, I did not see this whole thing being an experiment to actually gauge the power of viral marketing with an acutal report coming.

Well, in an update to this story, if you follow the link now you will see the results. The outcome was different than I expected, but yet was glaringly obvious the whole time.
