Don't you hate it when...

...you buy something online and then you're gone when its delivered so you get a delivery note from the parcel carrier and you have to wait until the next day to pick it up? [thumbdown]

Hinigyday 05-11-2011 12:02 PM

yupp,
but you know what´s worse ?
You buy something online, finish the transaction, only to find out that the whatever you just bought is so and so much cheaper on this other site. [cursing]

or... you buy something online and then while you're gone when it's delivered they leave a note on the first delivery attempt (even though they are supposed to make at least three) telling you that you must pick it up at your local post office... but your post office closes at 5:00pm on weekdays, so you have to request time off work to leave early so you can run to the PO. But when you get there you stand in line for nearly an hour before finally getting your violin rosin and notice the package is small enough to fit in your mailbox without the dumbass postal worker leaving you a slip.

Try having them deliver it to the same address as yours only in a completely different county and having to ring up asking where your parcel is only to receive, "it was signed for already" we have proof of delivery. that really pssd me off [cursing] DHL

Yes. This was the case for me. A cell phone fits fine in my mailbox and its locked with a key so I don't understand why they didn't just leave it. [no]

I also hate it that the only decent espresso bar in midtown which I have been frequenting for years has now suddenly become insanely popular, and now I have to stand in line for 15 minutes every morning to get my latte and freshly baked cinnabun. [cursing]

Just cancel the original order and re-order at the cheaper site. Simples!

If they just left it, they open themselves up to you being able to make a claim. They get you to sign for it for a reason.

dabibibff 05-11-2011 07:00 PM

Surely something as expensive as a mobile phone would need to be signed for?

baritkello 05-11-2011 07:02 PM

When the postman doesn't leave a card saying he's left it next door, and the neighbour is a fireman who works opposite shifts to me and we hardly ever see each other.

In my case:

Come home and fine failure to deliver slip requesting I go to the local post office on the high street.
Day off next day so go to the post office.
Get there and wait 45 minute in line only to be told "sorry mate, it's not here, you need to go to the parcel depot on the other side of town".
Drive to the parcel depot, wait 30 minutes in the line "Sorry mate, dunno why they sent you here, it's at the local office on the high street"
Ask them to check, it's definitely at the post office

http://images.memegenerator.net/inst...x/10125369.jpg

Go back to the post office, wait another 45 minutes in the queue "Sorry, it's not here"
Kick off and shout that you've already been to the parcel depot and could they double check before you kill everyone within 50 yards.
Postman finds your parcel, leave.

Get home and discover that the wrong item has been sent to you by the shop.....

For your sake, I hope that business slows down to the point that you're the only one in line.

Some serious first world problems in here.

I used to think that was bad, until our post agency changed it's policy 2 years ago.

it'd be attempted for delivery *twice*, two days in a row that is, which is not optional! And the day after that you could pick it up... so if you had a job or anything useful to do it'd take 2 more days before you could pick it up!

Now they've "fixed" it a couple of months ago, so you can go to some website with the form from the first delivery, login etc., and change the option to "i want to pick up my package", starting 2 days from now. Lol. They just don't get it [no]

Had quite a few items where signature was required so they ended up being sent back to the place I bought it from. It's just cheaper to buy it locally for more than it is to take a couple of hours off work.

I absolutely hate that there is no way to get a 'signature required' package.

Have them delivered to your place of work?

krasniyluch 08-11-2011 12:42 PM

I've had a delivery guy leave $3000 worth of computer parts sitting on my front porch on a busy street before. Signature required, btw.
And I've seen them fail to deliver a $30 tiny package without a signature required, **** knows why.

Or they leave your package on the front step while it's raining without putting plastic over it.

I'm annoyed when I order parts from NCIX or Newegg, and everything arrives on time except for the mainboard which is suddenly on "backorder" when it was listed as "in stock" when I ordered. [rolleyes]
