That remains to be seen, naysayers have a great talent of focusing on the negatives when their driver of choice isn't getting all the glory.

And for the first time ever, it feels good to be one.

In short, it was all the car... and yes Webber is shite.
You're in denial. Yes it's been too easy for him and he has had the best car but Webber is far from shite. It's obvious he is world championship material.

Nonsense. He is in the best car on the grid and has not one win this season. He has started from pole 3 times and ended up finishing third or higher.

Even Webber himself admits his best chance of winning a championship is behind him.

But sure, he is world championship winning material... big friggin whoop.

Not really. Lewis is a world champ, Mark on the other hand isn't... and never will be.

The only thing that truly hurts is talking to someone as dense as you.

I think hamilton is the one being overrated. Alonso is a way better driver. Perhaps even jenson is in some way

And you are welcome to your opinion.

I think Alonso is overrated, and a bit of a cry baby. But I like him making Felipe "Alonso is faster than you" Massa look bad.

The beauty of F1 baby.

I meant Vettel is world championship material, not Webber. Webbers good but he's not in the same class as Hamilton, Vettel or Alonso.

I'm sure even Paul Di Resta is a better number 2 at this point than Webber.

Ah I thought you were referring to Webber, my apologies.

No doubt Vettel is the real deal, and i generally like the guy too, seems like a top bloke.

And I joke about the best car label really, it's just something all the top drivers have had thrown at them at one stage or another, my lad Lewis included of course. It's those naysayers that get on my tits. And as poor old Webber has proved, being in a top car still gives no guarantee of winning a race let alone a world championship.

The top drivers on the grid have world championship(s) under their belt, and deservedly so.

Vettel was driving and performing well as a 'learner' in the second tier Toro Rosso and since being in the RB team, he has been notably more consistent in his qualifying and racve performances.
IIRC, his worse qualifying was third and he's failed to be on the podium once (fourth). the other 'top' drivers have had qualifying and race results that are all over the place - and if you compare team mates as well, it really throws up the variations in their performances.
The kid is just plain fast!
Now the championship is sewn up, it's going to be interesting to see if he is now more relaxed and prepared to really push the car the whole race.
The other thing to remember is that even the 'worst' F1 driver is a fantastically fit and skilled driver.

Yeah exactly. There's probably a 2-3% margin in ability between the best and worst driver on the grid.

As an example if one driver is consistently 0.2 seconds slower than his team mate on a 1m 30s lap then he gets half the world calling him a **** driver, but in reality he is 99.78% as fast as his team mate. And if your team mate is Sebastien Vettel then that's a bit harsh don't you think?

F1 should be harsh, countless highly skilled drivers have achieved nothing and got the sack.

Up your game or move on.

Erm...you obviously havent seen Vettels first win then, Monza 2008 where he qualified on pole, led from start to finish in pouring rain...in what was basically a Minardi.

One of the best drives ive ever seen, and proof of what a special talent he is.

Erm... of course i did. A fine drive for sure, but the Toro Rosso was hardly a Minardi.

Sometimes things just fall into place for someone over a weekend, it happens.

Edit: In fact they outscored Red Bull that year. :P

I'm not saying F1 shouldn't be harsh, it's just people that label drivers crap from the comfort of their arm chairs that annoys me. It's the same with any sport though, watch a football match at the pub and everyone seems to know better than the manager or would of scored that goal or made that pass

We are all armchair experts, and that goes for former drivers.

Niki Lauda and Eddie Irvine are two of my personal faves that need to go forth and multiply.

[yawn] It's just not exciting. Maybe because passing looks too easy, like it's less of an achievement. Seem some good racing at Brands though.
