iCloud is a WMD on all future devices and I would like to see it copied instantly by Google using unlimited storage (and probably in 3 Years by MS)

Google already uses it to an extent with contacts, docs, and pictures with Picassa but it would be fantastic if they took it as far as Apple and further.

Apple kinda sailed past Google Music with Music Match and Google Music is still in beta. I love watching the two of them feed off of one another because it is nothing but beneficial for the consumer.

No problem dude [thumbup]

Just a note to all iOS5 users, there may be a bug with the new Reminder App when using it with a Location Aware Reminder.

Seems that it constantly updates location and drains the battery pretty fast.

Loving the notifications. Also the Reminders finally sync tasks with Exchange (or Zimbra). I've been waiting for this for ages!! The Camera app on the iPhone 4 definitely opens faster now too. It opens faster when you use the camera from the lock screen though than when you open it from the home screen.

Tabbed browsing in Safari on the iPad is another welcomed feature. I'm still getting used to the split keyboard, but I think once I do it will make typing on the iPad much faster.

iMessage will be great as soon as I know some people with it lol. Kind of useless right now.

iMessage is really great. Even if you have no service but wifi you can send a message to another iOS5 user via their number like a normal sms and it just detects iMessage even on random international numbers.

I tested my AT&T phone from the UK with cell service off to a Norwegian number, it detected iMessage instantly over wifi and turned blue and sent with delivery confirmation instantly.

No idea how it works but its crazy good!

Feel free to get your friends UDIDs to me for activation. I still have 70 slots open [thumbup]

I also noticed that the music app drains the battery extremely quickly and has trouble after being unlocked.(no transition, takes 6 seconds or more to become responsive) I use a bluetooth headphones and sometimes the icon to choose the source disappears after unlocking. Not a big deal,I just double tap the home button and scroll to the right.

A pretty major bug I encountered was the wifi became disconnected and required a reboot to get it to find ANY network. Manually typing a network in resulted in a "could not search" error.

I can't upload anything to dropbox because it crashes when I touch the upload button and apps LOVE to crash now, but this is an early beta and most of the stuff works, so hopefully beta 2 is a bit more stable. (these are really the only bugs I noticed so far)

On a side note, one of my friends with an iphone 3gs is quite jealous for some reason. I think they hate me now.

Really like this first beta of iOS5, running great on my iPhone 4, the way it syncs now through wifi is awesome, new notification thing is really nice, camera from lock screen (button appears with double tap of the home key) and then take pictures with volume up button.

Plus all the other stuff [thumbup]

Still 80 odd spaces left on my developer account if anyone else wants in
How stable is it? Any quirks?

Well the only problem I have had is a few older Apps don't work.

See hellob above has had a few issues but it is beta after all.

Not had any lockups or had to restart yet though.

PM me UDID, device (exact model down to GSM or CDMA) and OS X or Windows (32bit or 64bit) and I can hook you up as one of my developers. (Goes to anyone on the Forum).

No problem, beta is not for everyone. I still have another phone on 4.3.3 just in case.

I saw one source in the net that said you can't, but there were a bunch of replies that say you can. In any case as long as you have saved your SHSH file you should be able to downgrade anyway, right?

Yeah you can but I never bothered in the past.
The only problems I have had was when some apps stopped working and need an update. Never anything serious that stopped the phones from working.

My 4.3.3 backup is just a spare phone that I don't use anyway.

It seems like Wired magazine think this latest update to Apple's arsenal is quite significant....

That article is fairly bollocks though mate. Props to Apple for doing the obvious/simple (sync calendar items) and then imply it doesn't quite work with android due to fragmentation? What? It has a... slant shall we say?
