Welcome to New America, Where ISPs are Copyright Cops
|
Well you've got to keep your fat cats happy apparently :)
Digusting I agree. |
Australia was looking into doing something similar but I think it failed, probably because they wanted to go over-kill with it (3 strikes and blacklisted from every ISP plus BIG fine).
Maybe it was something to do with the mandatory filter? I can't remember anymore. Kinda feel sorry for you blokes in the US, Copyrighting is MASSIVE worldwide. I don't see a problem with it so long as you state who the original owner is and don't claim it as your own. Or are they talking about movies? |
How the eff are they going to enforce this? This looks like lip service more than any actual threat. It will be very interesting to see them unlock pass worded rars to prove they are illegal.

I am sure the same would be in the US. The ISPs would have to buy or upgrade equipment and have to consume more resources into the monitoring process which tends to cost a lot of money. ISPs don't like spending money, except the monopoly type ISPs. |
Thread cleaned up, keep it civilised please.
|
In general, I'm in favour of copyright, as in general people have put time and money into the product BUT I can't possibly agree with the draconian and reprehensible actions taken in many, even most, cases.
