So, if I'm correct. What you are saying is that the general public should boycott air travel in case one of the planes they are traveling on might have a structural problem? It's not what I'm saying at all. You're perception of my argument is all made up in your head. What would be a nice outcome if everything being said is true is that the management of Boeing should be held accountable if found they did allow parts to be fitted outside of manufacturing thresholds and that all 737 planes built between 1999 and 2002 inspected at the cost of Boeing for "level 2 structural corrosion". Of course to know these things, you'd actually have to watch the video in my first post. Did you actually do that? |

I was watching this story on TV and they gave the source of the story and so I thought I'd share the youtube version of it.
Basically it outlines quite a worrying prospect that around 1500 737NG aircraft are affected by parts that fit to the fuselage of the plane that could potentially give way due to negligent engineering done by an outsourced company. Also the gross negligence by Boeing themselves to cover up the issue. 3 crashes in recent times of the 737 are believed to be caused by this issue, and more could happen as the parts seem to take some time to fatigue around the 8 year mark. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IaWdEtANi-0 It was highlighted on the Australian TV airing that Qantas and Virgin have aircraft that could be affected. its been mentioned over on PPRUNE about this, alot of airlines are very very quiet of the engineering issues regarding the 737`s atm , panels especially - look at the recent incident when part came away in flight. It defiantly seems a there is enough evidence for the FAA to actually do a major investigation, now the cat is out of the bag. Let me get this straight....al jazeera TV is alleging that the largest commercial airliner manufacturer in the USA is trying to kill its passengers? So let me get this straight. You wont believe an ounce of this unless it's aired by Fox News? The people telling the story are ex American Boeing employees! Boeing manufacture arguably the safest aircraft in the world, I highly doubt they'd try to cover anything up, especially in regards to a safety issue. And you base your statement off what? Ignorance? A big company like Boeing would never cover anything up... especially in relation to something as significant and costly to repair as this. Just to let you know, the parts in question are not manufactured by Boeing. So it's not Boeing's engineering that's at fault but manufacturing contractor Ducommun. But the fact that Boeing engineers are rejecting the parts and managers at Boeing are telling them not to reject the parts but to fit them to the plane. |
