Default Sun has exploded!
http://www.nasa.gov/mission_pages/su...711-blast.html

Holy crap! [shocked]

The large cloud of particles mushroomed up and fell back down looking as if it covered an area of almost half the solar surface.

We got warning of a geomagnetic storm at approx 10am yesterday. Wonder if this is why. Almost certainly.

And signs in the earth beneath: Blood and fire and vapor of smoke.
The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood

Nice picture. Thx for the post.
This might be one of the highlights of the solar cycle..

Blasts like these can kill sattelites and cause powerouttage.. There's been no warning for both though. But perhaps on locally there are warnings.

According to Dutch news , NASA hasn't been given warnings.

The burst fortunately didn't "face" with Earth.
That could have resulted in epic satellite damages...

Ps. this nokia browser does double space... wtf?
