Need some help with Paypal's fees structure
Confusing would be an understatement. I'm thinking of (trying) to sell some of my photography prints via Etsy, using Paypal as the payment option. In order to do this I would need to upgrade my personal paypal account to a premium account. Some questions:
1) If I upgrade to Premium - are their any money transfer actions where are free under a personal account, but attract a charge under Premium? 2) When accepting a credit card payment from somone with a paypal account not registered in The Netherlands, exactly what will the total charge be (e.g someone from the US)? As far as I can work out there is a transaction charge which is a % of the transaction value, then a fixed fee ontop of that, then there is a currency conversation charge (e.g for going from USD to EUR). Is there a further charge specifically for accepting a credit card payment? I don't think they could have made their fee structure more complicated if they tried. http://www.discussworldissues.com/fo...ilies/sad1.gif In short - I'll be wanting to sell my prints for around 20USD each (plus shipping charges) - but I need to figure out if paypal makes it worth doing - or will I be left with feck all after they have forced me to bend over and take it.... I'm not looking to make lots of money (more as a hobby) - but its still got to be worth my while! |

As for worldwide sales, I believe they charged an extra 5% per transaction. I'm sure if you gave them a call they could give you a full breakdown of what the fees would be in your country. |
