You bet. They probably even have to PAY the MPAA a considerable fee.

To be honest, I think the only franchise they release that makes enough money is the bond films, but since the recent re invention of bond, and bond since goldeneye, I feel its not going to make the money it once did (I have no facts that back that up). Casino Royale was ok, but the last one was a bit crap and forgettable. Brosnan bonds where entertaining, but it was getting far far far to cheesy towards the end of his reign.

I checked the 2000 list, 10 years of films, and possibly 2 or 3 actual good selling ones.

They wonder why they are in debt.[rofl]

Yep... Well to be fair I liked Craig as bond a lot better than Brosnan and even the pretty weak quantum of solace apparently raked in 3x the costs of the movie (according to wikipedia).

But yeah their other movies sucked.

Hmmm I was slightly interested in the Red Dawn remake, the rest is pretty much horrible, I would assume the hobbit would still be fine since it has multiple studios attached and what not.

except that the `unions` have told the stars not to sign up because the studio wants to negotiate directly with the stars and bypass the unions so they dont get a cut
