Anything worth seeing in TN?
 

I have to go to Ft. Campbell to take care of some crap and figured that since I am driving I might as well check out some stuff. The only real plan I have is to stop in Nashville and see a buddy of mine that moved there and one of my cousins. Other than that, I have no idea what to do there.
Keep in mind that I loathe country music and I would rather not have anything to do with it :P

Fort Campbell! I was born there. Thankfully we moved 7 months later to Germany. I would have hated to have grown up there. Seems a bit bleak. There are things around to go see however.

Go to Mammoth Cave National Park and take one of the cave tours. It's the largest cave in the world and is quite a sight.

The Corvette factory and museum are in Bowling Green (it's on the way to Mammoth Cave).

The Jack Daniels Distillery is in Lynchburg, TN.

Corbin, KY is home to Sanders Cafe, which is the birthplace of KFC. I know it sounds lame, but the food there was delicious! I stopped in randomly on my way up to Indianapolis once.

I'm sure there's lots to do in Nashville, but I can't think of anything right now. I'm sure your buddy would know all the "hot" spots.

Nashville, Im not too familiar with, but I am sure that there is a good 2 to 3 days worth of stuff to do in and around the city. All big cities do.
I think that the Nissan Car Museum is located there if you like cars. Ask your family, their the locals!
Whatever city your going too, look up the city event planner. Their is usually something always going on in the cities.
Nashville could have a lot still shut down though, from the huge flood. I think that some of their attractions aren't opening until December iirc.

I do know what is in West TN, but in East TN, it is all mostly outdoors. Anything and everything outdoors you wanna do, you can do it in East Tennessee. Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Knoxville is a good Northern Base, and Chattanooga is a good Southern Base if you wanna do Outdoor activities. Each city has city stuff, Chattanooga is more low key, but Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge are geared for tourism.
Jack Daniels plant is somewhere near here as well.

Either way, I have been living in Nashville for quite a while now, yet I am not really sure what there would be for someone from out of town to do here. A lot of stuff is still closed from the floods and there really wasn't much to do before that. Maybe it is just that I have lived here so long I just accept everything as normal and uninteresting.

I do have to agree above though, Mammoth Caves are EXTREMELY cool if you take one of the longer tours.(you can eat in the cave)

There's good scenery if you know where to look - but most probably don't care for the outdoors anymore.
