While Klose claims to be German, while he's of polish descent, has polish name, was born in Poland, his wife is polish etc, He is widely considered to be polish in Germany.

Podolski (also of polish origin, born in Poland, in my hometown actually, polish wife, etc). He declares to be polish often and openly, doesn't sing german national anthem during the matches etc.

Both considered (and even preferred) playing for polish national team, but our football organisation was slow and stupid.
