You are 14, pueberty is most likely in full tact.
If you don't play sports or do activities often, you will lose energy, as ironic as that sounds. It can also be the food you eat. Fruits give you energy, while sweets and starches promote exhuastion. Plus if you are fat this only worsens. I get 4-6 hours per day on school days and I'm tired for first hour I wake up then I'm fine once I get to school and stuff. |

You should never really need to sleep over 8.5 hours keep that in mind. Your body does the most "sleep work" in roughly the 6th and 7th hours of sleep.
That being said exercise is a good way to improve the quality of your sleep as stated, as well as having a healthy diet. If you are exercising a good amount, and don't eat anything that horrible it might be a mental aspect draining you? If you're depressed or under a lot of stress it can lower the quality of your sleep. If this isn't what's going on either, I'd probably actually go and see a doctor. There are a lot of medical reasons you can be drowsy all the time that are easy to counter. |

I'm really not kidding, it's a physiological thing, it releases endorphines, and releives stress, i've heard surgeons do it before surgiries and athletes before games (they wash their hand obviously, LOL).
too MUCH sleep and too LITTLE sleep can make you tired, as can too MUCH activity and too LITTLE activity, it's all about balance people, such is life. |

Well, you certainly don't have any sort of sleep disorder. I've been in that boat before, and it's not pretty.
The amount of sleep you get doesn't matter, it's the amount of rest your system gets. If you want get more good rest out of your sleeping hours, then make sure you do this: -Sleep in the darkest room you can. The less light, the better. -Listen to music. The kind of music doesn't matter as long as it's volume is low and consistent. -Don't eat a lot before sleeping. -Obviously, turn off the TV. -Sleep in a comfortable bed. I can't stress this one enough. The more you toss and turn, the less overall rest you get. |
