Bringing Lieberman into the government would have to be pretty bad for foreign relations (including US relations) It will be weird to see how the rest of the world reacts if a fascist is part of the Israeli government. Jorg Haider was unpopular, but at least we now know that his party wasn't serious, but a cover for a personal fetish. |

Here are the results with 88 percent counted. 29- Kadima 27- Likud 15- Yisrael 13- Labour 11- Shaz Likud + Yisrael + Shaz = 53 Kadima + Labour + Shaz = 53 Arab parties = 11 Small Jewish Parties = 14 Kadima + Labour + Shaz + the arabs have 64. Likud + Yisrael + Shaz + Small Jewish Parties has 67 Shaz has the balance of Power. Livni will have first crack. The only workable coalition has her with Shaz. If Shaz goes to Likud then Bibi will be elected. |

In fact, the more irresponsible both sides are about their situation, the more achievable a "new equilibrium arrangement" may be -- because the US and other regional stakeholders simply can't afford for the recklessness, immaturity, and sheer stupidity of leadership on all sides of the conflict to continue. Why not?

http://israel.kieskompas.nl/clearuser/ ![]() My top three for Security are: Meretz 83% Balad 80% Labor 80% My top three on economics are: Kadima 70% Israel Beiteinu 68% Labor 67% My top three on religion are: Ra'am-Ta'al 90% Meretz 80% Hadash 80% Overall my top three are: Labor 72% Meretz 70% Kadima 70% I didn't answer any of the party leader questions, I don't know enough about them individually to answer. It is odd though, on the chart, the Greens & Kadima were always the closest parties to my marker. But when you look at the numbers the Greens aren't close to me. Also, I just noticed when analyzing the results, it said that the question of capitalism vs. socialism, the Greens were completely capitalist. Is that accurate? Some questions seemed biased or tricky to answer. Like "Eliminating Palestinian terrorists in populated urban areas should be avoided" I've got no trouble eliminating the terrorists, but I do have a problem trying to eliminate them with air strikes killing lots of civilians. The question should have clarified the tactics used. Plus there shouldn't be a forced choice between a strong military (which I favor), and the peace process (which I also favor). The question, of course, is how the military is used. |

Some questions seemed biased or tricky to answer. Like "Eliminating Palestinian terrorists in populated urban areas should be avoided" I said I completely disagree with that statement because 'populated urban areas' includes gaza. I really don't see any other solution. Give civilians a chance to leave the area, and then have at it.
Plus there shouldn't be a forced choice between a strong military (which I favor), and the peace process (which I also favor). The question, of course, is how the military is used. I think the peace process should be used to it's greatest extent, but you maintain the military in case conflict arises. You don't do one or the other, but you do both. There are some parties that are doves and others that are hawks. |
