I can see how hard it is to quit smoking.
I started smoking last October and stopped smoking like a couple of weeks ago. That said, I only had like a packet a week so I guess it wasn't enough to increase the chances of being addicted compared to if I smoke a packet a day. Although I do have the craving now and then. Plus it's something to do especially if you're out chillin' in a club/bar. |

I smoked for about 10 years aprox. a pack per day.
Quit about 3 years ago, and i will never smoke again. It is difficult to do and need to be stopped suddenly, the reducing slowly to zero does not work. I feel proud of myself for having the power of will to do this and it would be such a let down in front of myself to ever smoke again that i am sure i will not do it. |

Pfft... quitting is easy.
I must have done it 16-17 times. Seriously though, I think alot of it is down to the mindset of the person. My dad quit a few years ago and he had smoked about 20 a day for around 20-30 years and just quit overnight. He said he didn't have any cravings but it definantly changed his personality. He was a right angry ******* for about 6 months but gradually went back to normal. He also put a fair bit of weight as well. One thing that was a bit strange as well was his immune system went to hell. Normally no-one in our family gets ill very often but for the next year or so people just needed to sneeze near him and he would be laid out with a cold. He also developed a really bad respiritary infection a few months after... not sure how that worked. Either way, good luck and keep it up. It's definantly worth quitting, its such a waste of money. |

I can't remember how many years ago I quit smoking but I was happy to quit. I read Alan Carr's easy way to quit smoking and by the end I was excited to quit! $10 for the book and about 4 hours to read it and haven't looked back one of the best days of my life!
No withdrawals and didn't gain any weight. |

how I kicked my habit was to individually rim each of the fag's butts and put them back in the packet so when i had a craving it put me off smoking.

That's actually a good idea, taking the filters off so it tastes like ****. I gotta try that. My wife wants to quit with me next week. I know it's going to be really hard. I'm prepared to be a grumpy ******* for a week or two. ![]() |

That sounds really funny considering what the word "fag" means here in the states [rofl] Let's just say they tasted like **** in a more literal sense. |
