But you've done it for me before!

Seriously, either people are getting dumber or I'm just getting smarter. This call, not 5 minutes ago demonstrates.

Me: "Hello XXX computers"
C: "Hi, if I bring down a list of files, can you download them and burn them to disc for me?"
Me: "Shouldn't be a problem, I assume it's drivers?"

C: "No, Films."

Me: ".... Films?"

C: "Yeah, you know, like unreleased ones at the cinema?"

Me: "Sorry, but I really don't think so."

C: "But you've done it for me before!"

Me: "No, we deffinately haven't" *hang up*.

If they are clever enough to find sources of said movies, surely they can work a basic program like a CD/DVD burner WTF....

It may have something to do with working in a area over-run by thieving little ****s.

So are you the only tech support guy?

Maybe someone else in the company was dumb enough to do it :/

I'm the tech department. We average about 30ish tech jobs a day and muggins here has to deal with it all. That's physical tech jobs, that's excluding builds, calls, e-mails and general walk-in enquiries.

I've not had time for a lunch break in 6 years. On the plus side I get at least one "OMG WTF" laugh a day.

I don't know why employers of computer engineers find this acceptable, was exactly the same in a job I had a few years ago.

"oh that nerdy engineer guy loves computers, he doesnt mind if he works flat out 9-5 because he loves computers so much!"

[rolleyes]

Sorting 15 computers a day to a good standard would be tricky, let alone 30 [no]
