I'm sure he will. But who knows who will benefit.

He'll give pardons, like every president does. I doubt he'll give a lot of them, unlike especially Clinton.

He probably won't give one to Stevens because Stevens is unrepentant.

This all assumes the Obama administration would bother to prosecute anybody anyway. Since they're all the same band of crooks, not likely.

Go Shrub!

Did the amnesty bill pass?

The guy who was "leaked" by unnamed White House officials to be the scapegoat for the supposedly sure-to-exist ("we know where they are", Dick Cheney said) Iraqi Weapons of Mass Destruction.

The guy who was "leaked" by unnamed White House officials to be the scapegoat for revenging to Valerie Plame by revealing her identity while she was an undercover agent for the CIA.

They'll both also probably get some sort of medals for what they've done, a few days before Bush steps down.

maybe removing the retroactive part of it might fly

And just about every single signatory would drop out.

I'm talking about the bill Congress passed in October 2006 which gave retroactive immunity to prosecution for breaking the Geneva Convention. Since that's not a pardon and instead and act of Congress then maybe something can be done. Especially since it was illegal when the acts occurred, then declared retroactively legal so maybe just maybe something can be done.

You put it so delicately, Swissy. Clinton had a thoroughgoing pardon bazaar going on.
